Our NBA ranking system uses a customized power rating scale to measure a team’s overall progress and efficiency throughout the course of the regular season. Different factors include:
- Strength of schedule and caliber of wins (placing extra emphasis on road wins and consecutive wins over a particular team)
- Efficiency on both sides of the ball – offense and defense separately accounted for
- How a star player allows his teammates’ and his own usage rate to impact team success
- Groups teams into six tiers of five – reorganized and updated twice per month as necessary
